I am delighted to share information with you about the upcoming 11th Annual “After Supper Visions” photography exhibition, featuring prints taken by guests at Catholic Charities Tuesday Night Suppers. The exhibit will run on Friday, June 7th, 2013 from 5:00-7:00PM and on Saturday, June 8th, from 1:00-3:00PM at Catholic Charities headquarters, 721 N. LaSalle Street in Chicago.

There is an impressive array of photos this year, as the artists give us a glimpse into their world. We are tremendously grateful to the art patrons and corporate professionals who return to this exhibit each year in increasing numbers, while also supporting our online sale of prints. Over the past nine years, some artists have earned enough from the sale of their artwork to make security deposits on apartments, pay tuition at community colleges and buy a computer. At the same time, many of our benefactors tell us how much they have learned from meeting the artists and discussing photography with them.

As Catholic Charities celebrates 95 years of service to Chicago, we pause to think about the many programs that have been created over the years, in response to the needs of the community. For all “Visions” artists, we pray that the photography program continues to be a beacon of hope in their lives, as they cope in the world today.

“Visions” would not be possible without the generous donation of time and talent from a dedicated group of volunteers. In this Archdiocesan “Year of Teens and Young Adults,” I especially want to commend the many young people who are getting involved in the expansion of “Visions.” Their commitment to helping those in need express themselves through the art of photography should inspire us all.

 Yours In Christ,

Monsignor Michael M. Boland

Administrator, President and CEO
